Former President Donald Trump’s defense team has filed a motion stating that he will present classified information during his upcoming trial. However, Trump’s defense team, led by attorneys John F. Lauro and Todd Blanche, intends to introduce classified evidence during the trial. This evidence aims to demonstrate foreign influence on the 2016 and 2020 U.S. Presidential elections, supporting Trump’s claims questioning the election results.
The defense argues that the indictment in this case relies on classified assessments by the Intelligence Community, which downplayed or ignored foreign interference in the 2020 election. They claim these assessments were biased and politicized, leading Trump and others to reject them.
