According to the latest survey conducted by Echelon Insights between June 26 and June 29, Ron DeSantis is currently in second place in the Republican presidential contest, with another candidate closely trailing him in third.
The survey reveals that former President Trump has the support of nearly half of the respondents, with 49% favoring him.
DeSantis is trailing Trump at 33 points behind, or 16%. Vivek Ramaswamy is only six points behind DeSantis, securing a 10% finish, which is one of his best performances in any national poll.

Other Candidates
Trump’s 49% support remains the same as the previous version of this poll in May. DeSantis has dropped three points compared to the previous month, while Ramaswamy has gained two points.
The other candidates are trailing behind.
Nikki Haley and Mike Pence are tied at 5%, although Pence has fallen four points since May. South Carolina Senator Tim Scott has a modest 4% showing, which is an increase of two points from May.
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has 2% support, up from 1% last month. Governor Doug Burgum of North Dakota and Mayor Francis Suarez of Miami have each reached 1% support.
Other candidates have less than 1% support, and 6% of the 413 prospective Republican Primary voters who took part in the survey are undecided.

Head to Head
Echelon also conducted a two-way contest between Trump and DeSantis. In this hypothetical scenario, the former president receives 60% support, while DeSantis is chosen by 32% of the respondents.
44% of the respondents “definitely” prefer Trump, while only 12% “definitely” prefer DeSantis, indicating that a significant portion of DeSantis’ support comes from those seeking an alternative to Trump.
The Echelon Polling results are slightly less favorable for Trump and DeSantis compared to the Battle to the White House average. This average gives Trump 54%, DeSantis 22%, Pence 6%, Haley, Ramaswamy, and Scott each 3%.
With several months remaining before Republican voters choose their nominee to go up against Joe Biden in the presidential general election, only time will tell which candidate will emerge victorious.
