According to reports from the Washington Free Beacon, the Biden administration urged hundreds of government employees to refrain from coming to work at the former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building, due to safety concerns.
The 18-story building, located adjacent to the city’s Tenderloin district, is notorious for being a hotspot for drug-addicted vagrants and violent criminals.
Pelosi herself reportedly expressed concerns about the safety of the building’s tenants, including her staff members, during a recent meeting with the U.S. attorney’s office.
Cheryl Campbell, the Health and Human Services assistant secretary for administration, echoed these sentiments in an August 4 memo. She recommended employees maximize the use of telework for the foreseeable future due to the “disgusting and unsafe” conditions around the building.

One observer reported seeing 49 people smoking and injecting fentanyl in broad daylight. This disturbing scene is indicative of the rampant drug abuse and criminal activity that has become commonplace in the area.
