The Quad-City Times, a regional leftist newspaper in Iowa, has issued an apology for publishing a scandalous and racially offensive political cartoon that targeted GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
Cartoon Deemed ‘Racist’ and ‘Incorrect’
The cartoon, which attempted to mock Ramaswamy but instead received heavy criticism, was described as both “racist” and “nasty” by Hot Air reports.
Ramaswamy himself condemned the newspaper in a tweet, stating that while they had the right to publish whatever they wanted, it was still “shameful.”
The GOP candidate, who is running for the 2024 presidential election, highlighted his meetings with grassroots conservatives across the country, emphasizing that he had not encountered the same level of racist bigotry from the left as portrayed in the cartoon.
The offensive cartoon depicts Ramaswamy speaking at a campaign event with only three men in the audience. One of them questions his birth certificate, another refers to him as a “Muslim,” and the third demands a slushy from him.
The report notes that Ramaswamy is actually a Hindu, not a Muslim, which is irrelevant considering that anyone can run for president in the United States, a country that prides itself on religious freedom.
The article also points out that conservatives place a greater emphasis on religious freedom and an individual’s religious rights than any other group.
It’s sad that this is how the MSM views Republicans. I’ve met with grassroots conservatives across America & never *once* experienced the kind of bigotry that I regularly see from the Left. Iowa’s @qctimes absolutely has the right to print this, but it’s still shameful. pic.twitter.com/5QNwGSJgJb

Left-wing Attempt to Shift Blame
The Hot Air report suggests that the cartoonist responsible for the offensive anti-GOP comic may be harboring emotional distress from the days of Barack Obama’s presidency.
Furthermore, the article highlights that the cartoonist, who holds Marxist-Communist views, targeted Vivek Ramaswamy instead of Nikki Haley. Haley, a former South Carolina governor and U.S. ambassador, is running for the Republican nomination and is also of Indian origin.
The report concludes by reminding conservative readers that both Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton have made jokes about Indian Americans who own and operate convenience stores. Left-wing critics often accuse conservatives of the very behaviors they themselves engage in.
The Quad-City Times newspaper borrowed @VivekGRamaswamy‘s likeness for a cartoon depicting him as the object of racial slurs cast by his prospective GOP supporters.
The Iowa newspaper has since apologized for the depiction. https://t.co/yXCfl4HUvm
