Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has seen a significant decline in support in the 2024 Republican primary race.

The drop comes as the DeSantis campaign undergoes a reboot in strategy, focusing less on his Florida accomplishments and more on national issues.

Lack of Support Among College-Educated GOP Voters

DeSantis is facing a notable drop in support from GOP voters with college degrees, which poses a challenge to his candidacy in the 2024 primary.

Recent polls from McClatchy DC showed a considerable decline in DeSantis’ support among college-educated white voters, compared to earlier this year. At the same time, Trump has gained significant approval among voters with a bachelor’s degree.

These defections contribute to DeSantis’ decline in poll numbers, as the Florida governor has fallen to a distant second place. Both Ramaswamy and Scott now present more pressing competition for DeSantis, claiming 12 percent of the support from GOP voters.

The data highlights a significant challenge for the Florida Republican as he tries to revamp his campaign, amidst fundraising worries and declining poll figures.

Some suggested DeSantis failed in his appeal to more moderate conservatives, given his support for a law banning abortion and his willingness to use legislative power when fighting the culture war.

Ramaswamy, Scott Now Compete For DeSantis’ Place

Governor DeSantis trails significantly behind Trump in the latest Real Clear Politics average, with BioTech Billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy making gains to secure the third position.

Polls by Kaplan Strategies had DeSantis and Ramaswamy tied for second in the Republican primary.

DeSantis did see some advances made in New Hampshire, but its results had little impact on the rest of the GOP, primarily differentiating himself from his Republican counterparts.
