The District Attorney for Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, expressed his concern on Tuesday about the rise in violence on the city’s subway systems.
Bragg Acknowledges Issue
When asked about the perception that public transportation is becoming more dangerous, Bragg informed FOX 5 News that he is fully aware of the situation.
He also mentioned his personal experience of anxiety whenever one of his family members rides the subway, even though data suggests that subway violence is on the decline.
Bragg acknowledged that there is much to be done to address this issue. As someone who is raising a family in the city, he understands the concerns firsthand.
His remarks come as reports of transportation-related crimes have increased by over 20% compared to the same period last year.
One recent incident involved a man allegedly attacking three women in a series of subway stabbings within 20 minutes on June 18.
New York City…this week.
I bet you will not hear about these attacks in the MSM.

Many of these offenders have a history of previous arrests, but due to lenient bail regulations supported by Bragg, they have been able to reenter society.
In June, there were 195 reported incidents on the New York City subway system, marking an increase of over 18% compared to June 2022 when there were 165 incidents reported.
The first victim, 19-year-old Bianchelly Diplan, was on her way to Paris Baguette to pick up a cake when she was viciously slashed in the back of her calf, requiring 19 stitches.

Another woman, aged 48, had her right leg cut at the same station and on the same platform shortly after the first incident.
The suspect, 28-year-old Kemal Rideout, was caught on surveillance footage rushing back onto the downtown 4-train at around 4 PM.
Police reported that Rideout assaulted another person, aged 28, at the Brooklyn Bridge City Hall station just 15 minutes later.
Career Criminal Apprehended
Rideout is facing three counts of criminal assault. He has been previously arrested four times in different locations throughout the city and is currently being held without bail on Riker’s Island.
