Queen Elizabeth II’s health has prompted her doctors to place her under medical supervision, as announced by Buckingham Palace on Thursday.
According to a statement from the Palace, after further evaluation, the Queen’s doctors have expressed their concern for her well-being and have advised that she continues to receive medical supervision. Notably, Queen Elizabeth is currently at Balmoral and is reported to be in a comfortable condition.
Present with the Queen at Balmoral is her eldest son and heir, Prince Charles, while other members of the royal family, including Princes William and Harry, have also traveled to Scotland to be by her side.
Prime Minister Liz Truss conveyed her concern in a statement, acknowledging that the news from Buckingham Palace during lunchtime would deeply worry the entire country. Truss emphasized that her thoughts, as well as those of people across the United Kingdom, are with Queen Elizabeth and her family during this challenging time.
The Queen’s most recent public appearance was on Tuesday at her Scottish residence, where she officially invited Truss to become the prime minister. Photographs from the meeting captured the 96-year-old monarch smiling at the cameras while using a cane.
