In addition, Cruz highlighted Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) expressed intention to unseat him in the next election. “They’re gonna spend $100 million the next year trying to flip Texas blue,” Cruz warned.

He highlighted Operation Lone Star, an initiative launched by Texas Governor Greg Abbott in March 2021 to combat illegal immigration. Despite its success in apprehending over 470,100 illegal immigrants, Allred voted against federal funding for the operation.

According to Cruz, many illegal immigrants now have access to an app that can get them processed in “two minutes,” allowing them to travel to any major city in the U.S. This situation effectively makes every city a border city, exacerbating the immigration issue nationwide.
Cruz’s concerns about border security and illegal immigration are not unfounded. Even some Democrats, like Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Gov. Kathy Hochul, have expressed their worries about the situation at the border, criticizing the federal government’s lack of intervention and coordination and calling the border crisis “untenable.”
