Former President Trump is facing an indictment for mishandling classified records. The authorities claim that he took these records to his residence, stored them in insecure places, refused to hand them over, and bragged about possessing them.
Trump denies the allegations, calling it a witch hunt and arguing that he is being held to different standards compared to other politicians who were found with classified documents but were not indicted.
According to Fox News, a trial date has been set for August 14th for the case against Trump.
Stay Tuned For August
The trial for the alleged mishandling of classified records by Trump is scheduled to start on Monday, August 14th. The judge overseeing the case confirmed this date. However, Trump’s legal counsel is expected to request a postponement of the trial.

If the judge grants the request for a trial delay, the start date could be pushed further into August or even later this year. The exact timing is uncertain at this point.
Trump’s Presidential Campaign Continues
Despite the legal issues he is facing, Trump has made it clear that he will continue his efforts to secure the presidency. He maintains that he did not break any laws in his handling of classified documents.

In his posts on Truth Social, Trump has accused the prosecutors of being corrupt, driven by ulterior motives, and twisting the law to apply double standards.
It remains to be seen how the trial, if it takes place, will impact Trump’s campaign for the Republican nomination. The first GOP primary debate is also scheduled to occur in August.
