Over the weekend, the northeastern part of Washington, D.C. experienced three business bombings, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Between the hours of 4:30 and 4:45 a.m., three different establishments were targeted. The Truist Bank and Nike shop were attacked with explosives, while a Safeway was set on fire with a Molotov cocktail.
Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported so far, and the specific damages to each business have not been disclosed.

The Washington, D.C. police and the ATF are offering a $20,000 reward for any information regarding the bombings.
A resident who witnessed one of the blasts captured a photo of the police response, describing hearing loud explosion sounds at 4:30 am near the Rhode Island Row/Ave Metro Stop. They observed broken glass at Truist Bank and reported that the firefighters were responding to an incident at the bank. The police later closed the roadway for investigation.

The police issued a statement seeking the public’s assistance in locating the individuals and a motor vehicle involved in the property damage crimes that occurred on Sunday. The investigation involves the Metropolitan PD’s Criminal Investigations Division detectives, along with the ATF and Explosives Washington Field Division.

The first attack occurred at Truist Bank, located in the 2300 block of Washington Place, Northeast. Around 4:30 am, an explosive device was detonated near an ATM, causing damage to the area. The assailant then fled the scene.
The Nike Store, situated in the 700 block of H Street, Northeast, was targeted at approximately 4:36 am. The perpetrator set off a bomb in front of the store’s doors before driving away.
Motive Unknown
The offender’s third target was the Safeway shop in the 300 block of 40th Street, Northeast, at around 4:45 am. The individual drove away after causing an incident at the location.
