Former President Trump has suggested that he is open to considering his vice presidential candidate from his current GOP competitors in the 2024 presidential race.
During an interview with Maria Bartiromo, Trump praised the candidates currently vying for the GOP nomination. He mentioned that he would strongly consider selecting them as running mates or members of his cabinet.

Among the candidates Trump praised are biotech millionaire Vivek Ramaswamy and Senator Tim Scott (R-SC). Trump commended Scott for their collaboration on opportunity zones during his first term as president.
While Trump sees potential for Scott to be part of his administration, he is currently focused on his campaign. However, he expressed interest in considering the South Carolina senator if the opportunity arises.

Different Opinions on Trump’s Vice Presidential Selection
During an interview with Neil Cavuto, Senator Scott addressed the speculation around his potential vice presidential candidacy. He stated that some people consider him a top contender, but he is committed to pursuing the presidency and aims to be the number one choice.
Senator Scott emphasized that he did not enter the race with the intention of finishing in second place because, in his opinion, second place is as good as being the first loser.
RFK Jr. has also been mentioned by Trump as a possible running mate. Trump explained that he has connections with many members of the Kennedy family and highlighted how RFK Jr. appeals to a particular segment of the population, including Democrats who are inclined to support him.
