GOP House members are launching a new vital investigation into the connections between the University of California – Berkeley and the Chinese Communist Party.
‘Long Overdue’
Higher education in the United States is unfortunately dominated by Marxist-Communists of the Western type that teach wokeness and transgenderism as the modes of “class struggle.”
However, what’s even more striking is the “old-school” Chinese communists seem to be making more headway on American college campuses with their spying, recruitment, and surveillance networks.
House Republicans are now seeking to counter that, The Gateway Pundit reports, pointing out the effort is long overdue. Hence, the House Selection Committee on the CCP is starting to look into Berkeley’s links to China.
The report emphasizes that many more American universities should also be investigated over the same matter.
It is noted that GOP Senators Marco Rubio and Tom Cotton started to get into the CCP’s influence in America during the time when Republicans controlled the Senate.

Direct Blow to Leftist University
The CCP House Select Committee has now sent a letter to Michael Drake, Berkeley’s president, dwelling on the leftist school’s joint project with China’s Tsinghua University – the Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute.
GOP lawmakers slammed the collaboration with the Chinese, stressing the joint institute was developing so-called “dual-use technologies” that could be used to boost China’s military capabilities.
The House Republicans demanded that Berkeley provide information on its Chinese institute’s research and funding.
The letter signed by Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), the committee chairman, and Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) stresses that Berkeley’s collaboration with the People’s Republic of China “raises many red flags.”
In May, the House Science and Technology Committee blasted Berkeley for failing to report that it got over $200 million in research funding from Communist China.
The Republican investigation seemingly has a lot to uncover, but it remains to be seen how effective it would be in helping beat back rampant Chinese spying and influence operations in the United States.
