The arrest was captured on body camera footage, showing Cheatham being taken into custody at the home she shared with her boyfriend. The footage serves as a stark reminder of the grim reality that child abuse can occur in any setting, even within the confines of one’s own home.
Cheatham now faces a litany of charges, including possession of child pornography, child sexual abuse, child sexual exploitation, unlawful access to a computer, and unlawful possession of a controlled drug, identified by the police as marijuana.
These charges reflect the severity of her alleged actions and underscore the need for stringent laws to protect our most vulnerable citizens – our children.

Despite admitting to the crimes, Cheatham pleaded not guilty during her court appearance on August 30th.
She is currently being held in the Payne County Jail on a $75,000 bond and will be represented by a court-appointed lawyer. Her next court hearing is scheduled for Monday, marking the next step in this harrowing case.
Adding another layer to this disturbing story, Cheatham listed a local elementary school as her place of employment on Facebook. Superintendent David Reid clarified Cheatham was in the process of being hired for the current school year, but never officially worked for the district or received a paycheck.
The hiring process was terminated before completion, following a mutual decision.
This case serves as a chilling reminder of the importance of vigilance in protecting our children. It also underscores the need for thorough background checks and careful vetting processes, particularly in institutions that cater to young children.
