Fearless 6-Year-Old Girl Courageously Thwarts Abductor in Miami

In an act of courageous defiance, a six-year-old girl named A’hlyric openly recounted her struggle against a man who attempted to kidnap her from a courtyard. This happened in her apartment complex in Miami.

Quick-Thinking Child Uses Biting as Self-Defense in Kidnapping Attempt

Last Thursday, while enjoying playtime with her siblings in the courtyard, A’hlyric noticed an unfamiliar SUV parked near their building as she was sitting on the rear stairway.

It was during a brief moment of solitude that the stranger sprang at her, hoisted her off the ground, and sprinted toward his Range Rover.

In a harrowing recount to CBS4 News Miami, A’hlyric detailed the chilling event:

“He pulled me. He picked me up. He started running with me,” she said. The quick-thinking child switched to survival mode and managed to escape by biting down on her assailant’s arm.

Despite being slapped and thrown to the ground, A’hlyric managed to reach her home. She informed her aunt about the incident, while her attacker rushed back to his car and fled the scene.

Authorities later identified and apprehended the alleged kidnapper, Leonardo Venegas, 32 years old, on Saturday. He faces charges of child abuse causing no great bodily harm and kidnapping, as per NBC News.

Mother Praises Daughter’s Courage in Foiling Kidnapping Attempt

After freeing herself from her assailant, A’hlyric’s mother, Teisha McGill, expressed her relief and admiration for her daughter’s brave actions during the ordeal.

“She’s really brave,” McGill said, “she fought him off.”

Security footage revealed Venegas allegedly lurking behind the family’s apartment before initiating the attack. After his failed attempt, he was seen fleeing the scene and driving away from the property.

Officials stated that a license plate reader managed to capture his plate number. A’hlyric identified her attacker using images from the video. Police located the Range Rover on Saturday when they arrested Venegas.
