In a surprising revelation, former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund claimed he was unaware of the presence of multiple undercover federal agents among the crowd at the Capitol on January 6.
This shocking disclosure came to light during an exclusive interview with Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, on his independent show, Tucker on Twitter.
Sund’s candid conversation with Carlson resulted from a previously unaired interview between the two. The original interview, conducted by Fox News, never aired.
However, Carlson decided to share the new interview on X (formerly known as Twitter) on a Thursday night, generating significant interest and controversy.

The timing of this revelation is particularly noteworthy, as it coincides with the Department of Justice’s indictment of former President Trump on four criminal charges related to his alleged involvement in the events of January 6.
The charges against Trump include conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.
Despite these serious allegations, Trump maintains his innocence and pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in a Washington, D.C., court.
During the interview, Sund expressed his frustration over not being informed about intelligence gathered by various military and federal agencies prior to the riot.
He also revealed his desperate pleas for National Guard assistance, which went unanswered for hours while the rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn the election results.
A Government Accountability Office (GAO) report released in February supports Sund’s claims. The report states that as early as January 3, 2021, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was tracking four domestic terrorists planning to attend the riot.
By the day of the riot, the number of domestic terrorists under FBI surveillance had increased to 18 or 19.
Sund’s revelations raise serious questions about the government’s actions leading up to the riot. He believes that intelligence officials were aware of the impending attack but chose to withhold this crucial information.
This perceived cover-up, along with pressure from Congress and the union representing the Capitol Police, led to Sund’s resignation shortly after the riot.

Sund further stated that it is standard police work to station federal agents in planned demonstrations. However, he found it concerning that he was not informed about the FBI’s plan to do so on January 6.
“They have 18 or 19 domestic terrorists coming to this event, so of course they’re going to have resources and they’re not going to just put in one agent. You’re going to have multiple,” Sund said. “But not to share that intelligence? That’s concerning.”
This story continues to unfold, raising more questions than answers about the events leading up to January 6. As we await further developments, one thing is clear: the truth about that fateful day is far from fully revealed.
