The following day, White noticed authorities near his home searching for the missing plane. This sight puzzled him and raised alarm bells. He initially thought someone must have committed a crime before realizing it was related to the plane crash.
Despite the initial confusion, White expressed relief that no one was hurt, especially considering there was a church located about half a mile from the crash site.
The missing F-35 jet, a Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, belonged to the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort. The pilot had safely ejected and parachuted into a residential neighborhood before being taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The jet supposedly went missing after a “mishap” caused its pilot to eject, and a debris field from the plane was later found in Williamsburg County.
