New Plan Proposes Forgiving Child Support Debt: ‘Reparations’ Take an Unconventional Approach

The radical left’s proposal for “slavery reparations” in the United States has taken an unconventional turn. California, a state that never had slaves, has introduced a new plan that would forgive black residents’ child support debt under the guise of reparations, as reported by The Washington Examiner.

California’s Task-Forcers Set Loose

The concept of reparations itself is illogical, unfair, and goes against the principles of justice and reason. However, California’s “Reparations Task Force” has gone even further by suggesting that the child support debt of black parents should be canceled as part of reparations.

This same task force has already demanded hundreds of billions of dollars in reparations, a figure that would have disastrous consequences for California and its economy.

‘It’s NOT Due to Personal Choices’

The task force’s 1,100-page report on implementing slavery reparations in California proposes eliminating black residents’ back debt and interest on child support payments. They argue that child support laws have been discriminatory towards black individuals and have caused the separation of African-American families.

They further claim that the disproportionate number of black parents burdened with child support debt is not due to personal choices such as divorces but because of these discriminatory laws. Although black individuals make up less than 7% of the US population, they account for 18% of those who owe child support.

Under the reparations plan, black parents who owe child support would only need to pay the principal amount of their debt. The report highlights that California’s 10% interest rate on these payments is 3.5% higher than the national average.

The entire reparations report, compiled over two years under the guidance of Governor Gavin Newsom, is currently under review by California’s legislature. These excessive demands are likely to have repercussions not only for Newsom but for all Democrats.
