The Disturbing Reality: The Influence of Radical Leftism on Medical Schools

In recent years, a disturbing trend has been emerging within the medical profession, one that should alarm every American.

The trusted scientists and doctors we once relied upon are increasingly abandoning their scientific principles, replacing them with radical leftist ideologies.

This alarming shift is not only threatening the integrity of our healthcare system, but also the health and well-being of patients.

This unsettling trend is most evident when it comes to gender-affirming care, but it has also surfaced in the wake of reactions to COVID. So, how did we get here?

The answer may lie in the changing curricula of many medical schools, where political ideologies are taking precedence over verifiable medical studies.

Harvard Medical School, for instance, offers a course titled “Caring for Patients with Diverse Sexual Orientations, Gender Identities, and Sex Development.”

This course promises to focus on serving gender and sexual minority people across all ages, from infants to older adults. This raises serious concerns about the direction of medical education and the potential implications for patient care.

This ideological shift isn’t confined to Harvard. At Indiana University Medical School, first-year students are taught that sex and gender “fall along a continuum, rather than being binary constructs,” defying thousands of years of medical scientific research.

Meanwhile, the University of California San Diego medical school presented assignments that refer to George Floyd and systemic injustices, straying far from traditional medical studies.

These changes in medical education are being amplified by large medical associations, such as the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

These organizations, which exist outside direct government oversight, endorsed treatments in “gender care” that lack historical scientific basis, including the use of drugs that have never been approved or clinically tested for these purposes.

The question now is, what can be done about this alarming trend? A new type of government oversight agency could be a solution, but given the current political climate, this could potentially exacerbate the problem.

A more fiscally conservative solution would be for patients to “vote with their feet” and stop using the services of doctors who support these practices. However, finding competent medical care is already a challenge for many.

Ultimately, the infiltration of radical leftism into medical schools and the medical profession at large is a serious concern that requires immediate attention. It’s time for us to take a stand and ensure that our healthcare system remains rooted in science, not ideology.
