Donald Trump has declined to participate in the upcoming Tucker Carlson event in Iowa, where the remaining candidates for the 2024 presidential election will be debating. This move means that Trump is snubbing the other GOP candidates vying for the nomination.
Trump Snubs GOP
The upcoming primary event, led by Carlson, announced its schedule on Tuesday without including the former president.
Bob Vander Plaats, the president and CEO of The Family Leader, expressed his surprise on Twitter upon learning that Trump won’t be attending the Leadership Summit. The event’s roster had already been prepared.
Carlson will be conducting discussions with six out of the 15 Republicans running in the 2024 Republican primary.
#Trump will SKIP #TuckerCarlson‘s #forum with #Republican 2024…LOL…. He is just jostling for position….. The #nextpresident is laying down the law that HE is in charge not the #GOP..HE HAS THE POWER. @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/VP9R7lpnfq

The candidates who will be participating in the event include Mike Pence, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, biotechnology entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson.
In his post, Vander Plaats suggested that the candidates will engage in innovative one-on-one conversations with Tucker Carlson. It seems that Carlson is not the target of Trump’s snub, but rather the organizers of the event.

Throughout his time in government and even after leaving the White House, Carlson has consistently supported Trump.
In his initial appearance following his departure from Fox earlier this year, Carlson praised Trump for “reorienting the Republican Party.”
Carlson Supports Trump
A few weeks ago, Carlson stated on Russell Brand’s audio podcast, Stay Free, that he believes Trump’s rise will be seen as the most significant event in American politics in the past century when we look back on it a decade from now.
Carlson argues that this is because Trump redirected the Republican Party against the wishes of Republican leaders.
However, Vander Plaats continues to openly criticize the former president. He believes that Trump has alienated his base by his stance on abortion and is too focused on the outcome of the 2020 election.
