Ukraine Families Say Goodbye As Men Stay To Fight: Photos

Amid Russian missile strikes on their towns and tanks rolling through their streets, many Ukrainians have been forced to flee their homeland.

Since the Russian invasion began last week, over 1.2 million Ukrainians have sought refuge in neighboring countries, marking an unprecedented exodus in recent European history, according to UN High Commissioner of Refugees Filippo Grandi.

However, there are many others who have chosen to stay and fight.

In response to the attack, Ukraine’s government has implemented martial law and mandated that men between the ages of 18 and 60 must remain in the country to defend it against the Russian aggression.

This has resulted in heart-wrenching scenes at train and bus stations across the country, where children bid farewell to their fathers and wives say goodbye to their husbands.
